[Cissie follows him out to the cab; she doesn't know what to say, or what to think, so she doesn't say anything. She'd like to turn her brain off so she doesn't have to think, but that's kind of impossible. She at least manages not to cry in the cab, even though every single possible solution she can think of involves people that might not--probably don't--even exist here.
